This may not surprise many people as we have all seen copies of technology being exported from China almost immediately after the launch of new products invented and produced in the west.
Military-grade hacking
The Chinese government is allegedly behind the espionage even to the point of pumping billions of dollars into illegally competing with western businesses to own markets resulting in the collapse of many innovative western businesses.
How and why is this possible?
How to protect your business from hackers?
If businesses do not take information security seriously, it is possible and easy for someone with the right skills to compromise your computer network and steal your information.
The only way to protect yourself is by firstly implementing the right level of gateway security and by adopting strict information technology policies and procedures.
It isn’t just your information or DATA you need to protect. You have a duty to protect the confidential information relating to your employees and your own customers or clients.
Most IT Companies are not Security Experts
It isn’t enough just to call your existing IT company to ensure you are adopting the correct procedures and have the right equipment in place to protect yourself. Most IT companies do not fully understand what is required. You need to approach a specialist who puts information security first.
Companies should start to have their security levels analysed to ensure hacking attempts from rogue states aren’t possible. This procedure isn’t expensive but could save not only the company who requests the analysis but also the assets of their employees and clients.
